Teh Audiobook, It Is a Good Thing.

Last month, I borrowed the audiobook of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy  from the library. Read by Douglas Adams himself, it's been the ultimate in drive-time entertainment. Today, I chose something completely different: Pride and Prejudice by the great Jane Austen.  Eleven CDs worth of Jane Austen is a LOT of Jane Austen, but so worth it.

Now when I tootle back and forth to base, an hour each way, I'm really having fun.  Too bad I can't knit and drive at the same time...

Glad you are enjoying the audio books.

I've never tried an audio book (yet), but I may. It might make the time on the treadmill go a little quicker. I haven't figured how to knit and workout at the gym yet, either.

Oh, isn't it amazing how much "reading" you can do on your way to work?

If you're not familiar with Audible (www.audible.com), you might want to check that out too.

Ahh, but now you can knit and read at the same time! I too highly recommend Audible (though living where you are, I think it will force you to use the .co.uk site instead of .com)

I really like audio books on driving trips. I usually pick a mystery for us to listen to. Something w/o a lot of bad language so that the kids can listen too.

And yes I'm still waiting for that automatic car that will take me places.
